Design-Build Convention Draws Industry Leaders

DENVER — The Design-Build Institute of America opened its 2015 Convention and Expo here today to industry leaders and decision makers across the public and private sector, with the goal of continuing to advance design-build as the most innovative and cost-effective way to increase the quality of construction projects nationwide.

The three-day event, which is being held at the Colorado Convention Center in Downtown Denver, is the largest gathering of the year for the design-build market, and the only event focused exclusively on the design-build construction project delivery method, according to event organizers.

More than 2,000 key players and decision-makers from the architectural, engineering, construction and acquisition communities are expected to take part in the conference, continuing education programs, and networking events.

These leaders come from a variety of backgrounds, including: Design-Builders; Architects; Engineers; General and Specialty Contractors; Program and Construction Managers; Finance, Risk, Surety & Bonding experts; Private Sector Owners from industries of all types; Federal, State, County, and Municipal Government public works officials; Agency and Public Sector Owners, Operators, Administrators; Purchasing Departments; Planners; Capital Improvement, Acquisition, and Contracts experts; Civil Infrastructure experts; Healthcare, School & University systems officials; Transportation, Transit, Highways and Bridges authorities; Water and Wastewater officials; Power and Energy officials; Ports, Border & Homeland Security personnel; Military and VA construction and design managers.

The typical attendee is a senior vice president level or higher from the practitioner firms that comprise the design-build teams, plus senior directors and managers from owner and agency organizations that have capital project, operational, acquisition, contract and budget authority for non-bid construction projects.
